Hello DWX DEV Team and community!

Wonderful news and thank you so much for giving an update about yet another amazing addition to your already fantastic mod for DW.

Please keep up the good work and be sure that many quiet Skippers like me await the release of DWX v1.41 even if they are too shy to write it in this forum!

* In evade mode, for maximal speed TA has been Retracted.

So no more TB-16 washout at 20 kts? :21: I suppose that's fair. Not happy about this - a major loss to my game strategy but I understand it, and will find a new tactic(s) to compensate. Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.

However, the chances of me divulging tactical information like that ever again are absolute zero. In good conscience giving advice to a fellow captain ended up being a lose situation for me. Lesson learned.

There. I've had my say, and will not bring this up again.

TB-16: Full speed 24 knots washout (you do not see a signal on brodband), but at this rate DEMON still able to keep tracker on the contact.

But this is not a washout rates as of the breaking speed rate.
Breaking speed TB-16 - 28 knots.
Accordingly, with a streaming TA-16, the AI Sub can not run more than 28 knots.
But washing out will be - above 24 knots, acoustics becomes dull.

If the AI captain decides to clean datum at high speed, then the TB-16 and TB-23 will be retract. Evade speed can be maximized. But only Sphere and Hull sonars will work on the AI Sub.

Even if the AI Sub reduces the speed - will still only work sphere and the hull, as a towed sonar - removed. About three minutes required to deploy the AI Sub any towed TB sonars again.

Like all the actions of a human player. :)

* - This is a random selection - AI captain will always be randomly to decide what tactics he chooses for evade torpedo.

It is basically a Udaloy based unit developed by Drakken (dll modding) and Von Faust (graphics), with new shades, weapons and new NFH-90 helo player controlled, working on RA 1.36.
It is a powerful unit, with improved AAW capabilities (ASTER and DART CIWS) and good ASUW weapon (MILAS); ASW is excellent with NFH-90 support.
Here are some screenshots: if requested we can release shades and weapons specifications, with modded dlls but we will have for sure several conflicts with the current RA database objects due to same DbRecNum for different objects.
Waiting for new RA 1.41, we remain available for any question.

Very cool mod you have going here - bringing much life to an otherwise stagnant sim!

I'm curious to know would there be a possibility of adding controllable SIERRA class boats to RA 1.41?

I think that should be very much doable given the current modelling limitations?

Also, any chance the Victor III getting its own weapons launch menu? So there are not half a dozen empty useless tubes around...

Important thing is not empty tubes, but functionality of existing weapons in loadouts.


Empty tube - do not launch any weapon.

But of course! I was just thinking more from the perspective of aesthetics since you have made the necessary modifications for other subs with unique launch stations.

As for the SIERRA? Any thoughts why you didn't include it in RA yet? :rolleyes

Would be a pretty nice addition given it would be the only other titanium hull SSN that can actually exploits its diving depth advantage (and should be reasonably quiet).

Sierra does not have any unique features.
The titanium hull gives only a smaller magnetic field.
As to its diving depth advantage - it's just uninformed guesses.
(The submarine with titanium hull and diving depth advantage is Mike.)
